Rachel Joy Isabelle McCallum is a writer, emerging artist and community engagement facilitator. Her work is guided by combining her passions for the arts and social justice. Rachel aims to do this through an anti-racist, intersectional approach, that prioritizes accessibility, creativity and diversity.

Rachel has experience working with diverse demographics, including children, youth and women. She has built meaningful connections with these groups through her work in schools, museums, community organizations and the municipal government.

This self-proclaimed ‘Arts and Culture Mover and Shaker’ is eager to shed light on topics that ignite her fire. Her primary areas of research relate to her identity as a biracial woman of Guyanese and Irish heritage.

Rachel proudly graduated from York University in 2023, with a BA in Cultural Studies and a certificate in Black Canadian Studies. She resides in Mississauga Ontario, where she was born and raised.
